6th & 7th Grade ELA/ Special Education
Hello! Welcome to my webpage. I am a 2000 graduate of West Burlington High School in West Burlington, Iowa. I attended Iowa State University from 2000-2005. There, I studied Music Education while performing and studying flute theory. I moved to Texas in 2006 and graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2012 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I started working in education in 2009 and became a certified teacher in General Ed. EC-6 and Special Education K-12 in 2012.
My passion for working in education comes from my love for kids. I find it exciting to challenge my students to be the very best they can be. With structure, guidance, and a little fun, my students will have the tools they need to be successful in the BIG world around them.
I have been a 6th Grade ELA and Special Education teacher at WWJH since 2016.
Prior to working in DISD, I taught the P.A.S.S. program in Channelview ISD for 6 years.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Jason. We have two beautiful and fun-loving daughters. Faith is 12 years old starting 7th grade and Joanna is 4 years old and is very excited to return to Pre-K at Colbert Elementary. We love to play, watch movies, and visit our families. We also have the BEST rescue pup, George.
