This is my second year in Dayton ISD and I am really looking forward to teaching my favorite subject, Math, to your 6th grade students. I love the Dayton community and am looking forward to a great second year.
After graduating from Texas A&M University I worked in the energy industry at a NGL (natural gas liquids) desk. I managed logistics for the desk as well as oversaw daily operations and reporting. I was a scheduler in charge of moving condensate, propane, butane and a few other commodities via truck and rail all over the country as well into and out of Canada and Mexico. Although the industry is a very interesting and an ever changing one, I quickly remembered that my passion was with children and education. I went through an amazing alternative certification program with Region 4 to become a certified teacher and I am looking forward to a great year teaching math!
I married my childhood sweetheart, Doug in 2016. We began dating “officially” when I was in 7th grade, and got married after college. We are both Aggies (WHOOP) and he is an operations manager at a fabrication shop. We live on the lake and spend every possible moment outside. We both enjoy slalom skiing on Lake Houston and are blessed to waterski almost every day. We also are avid outdoorsmen and enjoy fishing, waterfowl hunting and deer hunting. We do not have any children yet but, we do have three dogs, Reba, Luke and Jenny. Luke is my black Labrador Retriever trained in retrieving/bird hunting and working with him, bettering both of our skills is one of my favorite things to do. Jenny is the newest additon and is a black lab also. In my spare time I compete in AKC and UKC hunt test with my labs. Luke accomplished his Junior title last year and will work on his senior in the fall. Jenny will start competing in October. Reba is a red heeler who enjoys being the princess of the house and sunning herself on the dock. Reba was my dog in college as well and has traveled all over and taken many naps in the classrooms of Texas A&M! I look forward to getting to know each of your children this year and watching everyone succeed in Math!
Outside of school, my husband Doug and I enjoy anything outdoors. You can find us on Lake Houston waterskiing, in Galveston bay fishing or in a duck blind somewhere in South Texas during duck season. I enjoy competing with my dogs through the American Kennel Club as well as the United Kennel Club’s Hunting Retriever Club. I spend many weekends driving dogs around the state competing with them. We are both Fightin’ Texas Aggies and enjoy attending football games when possible. I love to spending time in the sun, and relaxing while reading a good book. Growing up I was heavily involved in our FFA as well as the American Junior Paint Horse Association. I was a secretary on our officer team for FFA and a national chair for AjPHA. My sister and I showed paints all over the country and I learned so much from those experiences. In FFA, I showed steers, lambs, and chickens at the district and county levels as well as at the Houston Livestock show. I have a passion for agriculture and outdoors as well as math and if you ever want to talk about horses, cattle, dogs or showing livestock, I am your person!
