I started teaching in Dayton ISD in the Fall of 1998. I began teaching at Colbert Elementary when it was still 6th grade then continued teaching there once it transitioned to 4th grade. Once Kimmie Brown Elementary was built, I taught there from it’s opening in the Fall of 2004 – 2013. I took a 3 year break from teaching, then decided to return again to WWJH in the Fall of 2016.
A little about myself. I am currently not married, but I have 3 daughters. My oldest, Halee, is 29 years old and married. She has a daughter, Brooke, that is 10 years old and entering the 5th grade this year. So yes, I am a Nana! My middle daughter, Kenna, is 16 years old, and will be a Junior at DHS this year. She enjoys playing sports and is on the Varsity Track team. My youngest, Kinsie, is 13 years old and will be entering the 8th grade at WWJH.
I enjoy traveling and experiencing new places. My girls love road trips like I do, so we always enjoy when we get to take them whether near or far. Our most recent road trip was at spring break. We drove to Palo Duro Canyon located in the Panhandle of Texas. I had never been there before and it was a wonderful experience!
