Hi, 6th Graders and 6th Grade Families—
My name is Jana Harville, and I am a 6th grade math teacher here at WWJH. I LOVE math and even more so, I love being around 6th graders and sharing my time with them. I originally from Port Arthur, TX, and graduated from Lamar University. This is my 24th year teaching, and I have been in Dayton ISD for 5 years. My husband Russell and I have been married for 21 years, and we have a 17 year old daughter named Jessie. We also have 2 dogs (Alex & Davy), and a cat named Sue! In my spare time, I enjoy drawing, reading, writing, playing drums, and spending time with my family. A couple of random facts about me…I speak French, and I have a twin sister named Jill. I am here for my 6th graders, and strive to make every day count. Along with being postive and open-minded, communication is key when it comes to a successful year, especially THIS year. :-) So if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I am easy to reach and happy to help. I think that although this school year will have some unique challenges, it will also be an amazing year because we will all stick together and make it happen. Let’s all be patient with each other and maintain a positive attitude, ok? Thanks for sending your child my way. What an honor it is to be a part of their everyday life. I will do my best—you can count on that!
